The Riviera Maya is a world-class tourist destination, and as such, it has plenty to offer the young single traveller.

While Playa Del Carmen and Tulum have scenes that appeal to our demographic, those looking to go on a week-long series of club visits will be best suited by staying in Cancun.

There is a wide variety of nightspots suited to the interests and budgets of all kinds here, but before you begin planning your night life itinerary in Cancun, you’ll want to nail down a party palace first.

There are many villas and penthouses available for groups of different sizes that will make your Riviera Maya home vacations far more exciting than any of the trips you have done up to this point in your life.

Once you have figured out this important detail, check out the bars and nightclubs listed below in order to cobble together a plan to live it up south of the border…

1) Coco Bongo

Part Vegas-style stage show, part raucous nightclub, Coco Bongo is one of the best known nightspots in Cancun.

Acrobats perform routines while talented bartenders sling expensive cocktails in this lively space, which is unlike any place you’ve ever been before.

Characters such as Beetlejuice and Spiderman add variety to the proceedings, and with a light show and confetti constantly raining down from the ceiling, the hours between the 10:30pm start and 3:30am will fly by quicker than you’d expect.

Pro tip: get a VIP booth, as it will save your feet and it will dramatically increase the level of service rendered to you and your party.

2) Senor Frog’s

As much of a cliché as it is, it wouldn’t be proper to visit Cancun and not drop in for at least a few drinks at Senor Frog’s.

The atmosphere here is so lively though, that those few drinks may turn into many more if you aren’t careful.

If you are visiting Cancun around spring break, this is the place to be, as college kids from all over the United States and Canada descend upon this nightspot on any given night between the months of February and April.

During this time, keep an ear to the ground for one of the Senior Frogs famous foam parties, as these events are off the hook.

One of the most unique attractions of this bar is the fact that it has a waterslide; depositing riders into the Caribbean Sea, visiting Senor Frog’s for this reason alone is well worth it.

3) Mandala

Those looking for a touch of class in their nightlife experience will want to spend at least one evening at Mandala.

Embracing its Indian theme, you can’t help but feel like a VIP for simply having walked through its doors, as its decor and the service in this massive lounge will make you feel like a member of the privileged class.

On big party nights, its beach adjunct opens up, allowing to groove the night away under the stars.

4) Karamba

If your preference is for the same sex, Karamba is the best place for you to go on a hot night in Cancun.

Open every night except for Mondays, this club has been around for a long time, so you know they know how to treat their clientele right.

With an equal mix of men and women looking for their own sex, Karamba is a great place for gays and lesbians to find companionship on their holiday in Mexico. Beyond the nightlife, be sure to checkout some of the endless hidden natural gems that Mexico has to offer.
